YUMC was approved to adopt miles 47-49 on Hwy I-5 as part of California’s “Adopt a Highway” program. This is the portion northbound from Yreka Creek, where it passes under I-5 untile one (1) mile past the Yreka/Montague exit. This program is being coordinated by the UMM and entails only one hour of your time once a month. We will be working six (6) person crews, who will receive training on safety procedures. All safety equipment will be provided.

We are looking for men and women who are willing to walk a mile and pick up trash. More people signing up means less time spent for everyone on this important project. There is much to accomplish to prepare for the photo sessions.

The sessions are scheduled for:

March 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th from 2:00 – 9:20 p.m.
March 11th and 12th from 2:00 – 9:20 p.m.
March 13th from 9:30 a.m. – 5:10 p.m.

Each photo session will be 45 minutes to 1 hour in length. We will hold sign-ups on Sunday, February 7th, 14th and 21st. The sign-ups will be at the Church, before and after each service. Please sign up early to ensure you get your preferred time.

If you are unable to attend church on the three Sundays noted above, and would like to have your individual/family portrait included in the new directory, please call Deanna at 842-4291 or send an email to yumc@sbclobal.net to make arrangements.

As a reminder, each individual and/or family who sits for a photo session and selects a pose for the directory will receive a free directory and a complimentary 8×10 “Custom Natural Portrait.” You will have the opportunity to purchase additional portraits during your scheduled appointment time.
